Who’s Blake?! Man, you weren’t kidding when you said you weren’t from New Mexico. The Blake Chanslor was a WWII Vet & Texas-native that moved to New Mexico to grill up the world’s first LOTA Burger in 1952. In a way, he’s sorta the founding father of flavor.
There are about 80 Blake’s locations across the American Southwest. While most are spread throughout New Mexico, you can also get your hands on a LOTA Burger in El Paso, Texas & Tucson, Arizona. Keep an eye out, though, because you never know where I’ll pop up next!

What can I say? I love America.
In New Mexico, where I come from, ‘food’ is something that comes with your red or green chile, not the other way around. That being said, my green chile is authentic, meaning 100% Hatch Valley grown. Meaning real flavor. Meaning real heat. If you have to ask, I’d recommend trying it on the side first. If you’re still uncertain, there’s always the Kids’ Menu…
That’s a loaded question, so yes & no. While I try to satisfy my customers’ hunger as quickly as possible, nothing at Blake’s is cooked until it’s ordered. This means a couple more minutes in the drive thru but it’s a small price to pay for food not pulled out of a steam tray that was cooked who knows how long ago. Tight on time? Try calling ahead to place your order & I’ll have your food ready for when you arrive.
Business people in suits call this “Fast Casual”, but really it’s just common sense. Awesome food at an awesome price, served as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.
